About Darjeeling

Darjeeling, “Queen of Hills”, resides in the foothills of the Himalayas in the Shivalik range. Established by the Britishers who ruled India, Darjeeling served as a cold escape in the scorching hotness of the country. The colonisers were taken by storm as they discovered the beauty of the elevated region and its panoramic view. They were thrilled and ready to exploit the golden brew that was abundantly grown in that region. Taking forward its charm, Darjeeling is now considered among the best hill stations in India. Darjeeling tour packages have seen a boom in the past few decades due the rustic aura it provides the tourists with. Many people, from far-flung areas, take a trip to Darjeeling for the sole purpose of buying the renowned and rejuvenating Darjeeling tea. The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway is among the few stem engines that are still active in India. This pulls tourists towards it making it a prime attraction that connects main cities with other terrains. It was also declared as a world heritage site in the year 1999, which is icing on cake! Britishers constructed Roman and British styled buildings that functioned as schools and hotels. These structures still in use and are even recognised as heritage sites.
